We welcome guests to wander around the farm. There are lovely views to enjoy and we’re surrounded by beautiful rural properties that add to the sense of space and calm.
We are not a ‘petting zoo’ but we do our best to allow guests as much access to the farm as possible. August is when our calves are due so it’s a special time for kids to visit.
Your hosts Rae and David
We moved from Sydney to Garlands in 2015. As city people, we had no idea what we were doing at first — the learning curve was steep — but we quickly fell in love with farm life. We been successfully breeding Angus beef since 2019.
We live on the property, but we’re more like distant neighbours: close enough if you need assistance, yet far enough away to ensure your stay feels private and peaceful.
You may see us around the house from time to time while we’re tending to farm chores. If you do, feel free to say hello — guests often enjoy a quick chat during a feeding session.
We love this part of the world and hope our guests enjoy it just as much as we do.
Why the name ‘Garlands’?
Garlands is a skiing technique.
Farmer Dave spent many years working in the ski industry, living in the mountains both here and across the world.
He now finds himself living at the base of Coolangatta Mountain.
